Carrier iPhone Upgrade Renewal Switching Carriers

Since many have probably just gone through an upgrade, I have a question for next year. I am currently on the Apple Upgrade Program. I just changed my phone with AT&T as my carrier. During this year some time, I will probably switch carriers (probably T-Mobile). Next year when I upgrade my iPhone, how does the renewal work? Is it any different and I will be able to select T-Mobile as my carrier? Or is there an issue as the program thinks I am on AT&T. Just want to avoid any problems with a future upgrade.

Ah thanks. I thought in years past that I had to log in with my ATT account when I did my preorder and was thus locked into only getting a phone from the same carrier.

I’m on IUP too. Phones come unlocked from Apple. I even verified by going to Verizon/T-Mobile site and entering my IMEI. Both said phone was good and ready to activate on their network.
