Is there a warranty on the USB Sync and Charging Cable that comes in the box? If I move the iPhone slightly when its plugged into my computer I lose the sync. I can her the phones disconnecting and reconnecting tone.

Yes, it has a 90 day warranty from the time you bought the iDevice.

IIRC, the cable that came with the iPhone is covered by the same warranty length as the iPhone.

Thanks. Where would I go to get it replaced, the Apple Store?

I just tried a 7 year old iPod cable and it works fine, so I must have just got a shotty cable..... just my luck.

The Apple Store should replace it without a problem.

Yes. Since the cable doesn't have its own serial number they can track back to a purchase, make sure you have your iPhone with you. You should probably make a Genius Bar appointment instead of just walking in. The Specialists might be able to swap it out for you without an appointment, but that's never guaranteed. :)

I got my iPhone USB cable (actually, I'm not sure which device of mine it belongs to) replaced today. The genius didn't even care to ask my serial number. I gave him the cord and he grabbed one out of a retail box and handed it to me.

I have an appointment tomorrow to see them. I hope it goes well like your experience. The apple rep that answered the phone for my local store didn't give me a good impression.... I'll see soon enough though.

It went great! I signed up for Apple Care+, and since the store was so busy the representative said they weren't even going to try and fix it (I didn't even know they would try and fix a malfunctioning USB cable.). She took a new USB cable right out of a box and gave it to me.

She said the Apple Care+ covers the phone, the USB cable, and the ear buds. If shes right, that's pretty cool. No one usually warranties additional equipment.

Thanks everyone for all your help, and feedback. It was much easier to go to the Apple Store than it would have been to go through Sprint telesales.

My USB cable was defective also, the Verizon store swapped it right out. No problems.
