I have the iPhone 5S and I am missing calls because I can't feel it vibrate in my pocket. The same is true if I set it on my desk. I've already checked and there is NO setting to increase the intensity.

I wonder if my case absorbs or dampens the vibration?

Any ideas?

Unless your 5s is tight against "tight" against your body, it can be hard to feel. A coat pocket will kill the vibration. Laying on a table can actually amplify the vibrations.

Your case must be soft to absorb the vibrations.

Your case would potentially absorb it.

You may have a weak vibration motor.

If it's something you can't stand, take it to an apple store.

It could be your case causing the issue. I use a Spigen aluminum case on my iPhone and I never miss feeling the vibration. If it is on a table, the vibration actually makes it chatter. Plus I make my own ringtones which are much better and louder than what Apple supplies on the phone.

The Spigen case does not offer the same protection as an Otterbox, but it is better for feeling the vibration on the phone.

Try to create your own vibrate pattern in Settings -> Sounds -> Ringtone -> Vibration (on top) -> Create new

Just tap on the screen in the pattern you want. That way you can make it more "aggressive" and noticeable.

iPhone vibrate too quiet

Okay, I know this thread is old now. I just selected a more aggressive vibrate ring tone and will see how it works out. Tired of missing calls.

About the case, mine in a soft flip case. It's hard to find a hard flip case, and can't seem to find any online. I like the flip design because our protects the screen when folded in my pocket.

All vibration motors are not the same and it could be yours is on the weak size. Other than changing cases and vibration patterns there is little more you can do.

I remember my 5S and it's vibrate was not only vigorous but LOUD. It was so loud that I quit using it and went to a tone instead. The only wish I have is Apple follow blackberry and allow me to repeat the tone any number of times I wish or make it never stop till I tell it too. Notifications are still lacking.

I suggest you find another case and see if that helps. Best of luck!
