how does the iphone vibe?
say, when you get a text or email, does it just vibe or does it pulse?
is there a differentiation between mail and texts?

There is no difference, unless you jailbreak the iPhone. And before you ask what that is, search for it, like you should of searched for this question.

But, it only vibrates once, and it lasts for like a split second.

Same for texts, mail, and voicemail when its silent. For calls, it vibrates every 2 seconds or so until the call isn't answered.

The vibration isn't as "strong" as most phones though, especially compared to a RAZR.

thank you for the reply, however i am not some newb to be talked down to.
i know what jailbreaking is and i tried the search function, but came up blank.
however, thank you for your answer.

how about some people be generous instead of flaming?
thank you very much.

yes, i am.
i do not see the point in flaming me, a person asking a relevant and informative question about the device, and not flaming the idiots posting 30 threads a day about iPhone Nano's.

What's an "informative question"?🙂 I know there are informative answers.

The vibration is everything nickspohn said it was, sometimes I feel it, sometimes I don't. I usually do while sitting down, standing up not so much... but I'd usually HEAR it since I can have my phone's audio on.

to answer your question a little further, the iphone will vibrate 3 times for a text. once when you get it, and then twice more over time (so you get 3 alerts just in case you missed it)

and also, ive been on these forums for a while and browse them almost every day (im ridiculously obsessed, I know) and have never seen a thread with this question before. similar, yes, but not the same, and therefore not able to fully answer your question
the guy telling you to search is just grumpy
dont worry
