Okay, after over two months of being an owner of the X (got in on a launch day), I finally need to ask about the tiny, yet pretty bothering issue which is there from day 1. Namely, a couple of times a day my iPhone vibrates for no reason - it’s a one, quick vibration, as if I got a notification although nothing new showed up.

Does anyone also have this problem? What might be the reason? I’m updating iOS pretty timely (today updated to 11.2.2), but this doesn’t change anything.

The issue is minor but it adds to the growing list of other minor issues with this phone (which are also plaguing other units like terrible lens flare or not-so-smooth operation) and making it a beta-testing experience. So I just wanted to know if there’s anyone else out there with the same problem and if the only way of solving it is a repair guarantee.

Do you have any missed calls on the phone? There is a new trend where phone scammers call a phone 3 times is quick succession, so quick that it doesn't usually even have time to ring. Once in a while it does ring though. It could be the phone starts the vibration and then the call goes away before it starts the ringtone.

Nothing like that... And then, they would have to call me like five times a day, at least.

I had this same thing happening to me and it turned out that I had ESPN notifications turned on, but I had show on screen and show in history turned off. I also had show temporary banner enabled. I had the notification set for sound but since I keep my phone on vibrate it vibrates when the notification comes in.

And it’s up to 3 to 4 times a DAY!!!

had this too. it ended up being an app with:

(go to Settings > Notifications > Pick an app)
Allow Notifications: "on"
Sounds: "on"
Badge App Icon: "off"
and everything under "Alerts": "off"

so essentially, the app would send a notification, but there was no visual representation of it, and since my phone is always on silent, it just manifested as a buzz.

kinda dumb level of granularity in those settings IMO. good luck on your witchhunt to find the right one.

I think you nailed it...that is probably what it is.
But then having your phone randomly vibrate while in your front pocket might be considered a feature by some o_O

Hi, Thank you for your input, because of it, I think I found the culprit app which I never liked in the 1st place however it looks as the image attached however it doesn’t explain why the rest of the notification didn’t appear either, as in “Lock screen”, “History” and “Banners” but I’ve just turned that notification off oio

Hi, thank you for your input... mine doesn’t have the same seetings applied although it got me to go through each app and instead I something similar and
may have found the culprit although it was the only 2 that had a weird looking config as all the others were all options applied or none at all, it puzzles me because if you have a look at the settings applied in the screenshots attached, either app should still give me a visual.
It had come to a point where I was ready for it as the phone was going off so frequently, I had enough time to see any potential notification banners even if they are on temporarily.

So hopefully now having turned off notifications for maps and the poker game I shall have peace... fingers crossed

But thank you as it’s quite likely it’s something to do with notifications... so far so good.

IT STILL DOES THE SAME!!!

I guess i didn’t want to come across arrogant but I was an O2 Guru, have been into mobile phones since I was a teenager (now I’m twice the age) am working for a CCTV manufacturing company as the 1st, 2nd and soon to be the 3rd line technical support.
I am technically unchallenged yet this is beyond basics... this is just stupid to have an issue as such on a phone that costs over 1 f in K!!!
