I've tried searching around but I can't find a solution to this so I'm assuming it's not possible but here goes anyways.

Is there a way to adjust the volume control buttons on an iPhone so that they increase/decrease the volume in smaller increments. Ive seen programs that allow you to adjust the volume in smaller increments but they all seems to require that you have the program open and don't affect the volume buttons at all. Any help would be great!

Im using an iPhone 6 with the latest software if that makes a difference

In case anyone wants a correct answer to this, you can fine tune the granularity of the volume controls without jailbreaking on iOS8.

All you have to do is go to settings > music > volume limit (on), and then adjust the "max volume" slider.

What this does is it sets the total range of volume that is adjusted across when you use the volume buttons, so if you set this slider to halfway, it means that your volume control is now twice as granular - i.e. the same as adjusting in half steps.

The only potential issue is that it does reduce the maximum available volume too, but it's likely that this isn't a problem for those chasing more granularity - so this method should work well in most cases.

My "max volume" slider is at the highest level and my volume increments are fairly big when using the volume buttons. I have to use the volume slider on the lock screen or in the music app to fine tune it.

Good tip but only works for the official Music app. Does not affect html5 video players in safari for example. So they are as loud as ever. And the internal speaker is aa obnoxious as ever.

The only way I have been able to limit volume below 1 is to drag the onscreen volume slider in small increments,
