iPhone volume doesn't change WhatsApp volume

No matter how low I set my iPhone volume (which successfully adjusts the ringer volume, text message notifications etc), the WhatsApp notification sound is always at full volume.

How can I fix this?

Same problem here. They just updated the app. Haven’t seen if that fixed the issue or not.

The new whatsapp update doesn't fix this.
