iPhone Warranty Question

Am I a previous owner of an iPhone 5. During my time with this phone (while under the 1 year warranty), I experienced an issue where dust or something seemed to be getting stuck underneath the camera lens, resulting in dark spots on pictures. When this happened, I took it into the Apple Store and they issued a warranty replacement for the phone. Shortly after, the same issue actually happened again with the replacement phone, so I took it back and they issued a replacement a second time.

I've recently upgraded to an iPhone 6s (big upgrade!). My question is, is there a limit to the number of times they will replace a phone under warranty? If I experience any issues with this phone, should I be hesitant about bringing it into the Apple Store because of a limit? Is there any kind of "lifetime replacement limit" that exists?

No limit provided it's a defect with the phone not caused by you. In other words, you didn't drop the phone, get it wet, and so on. Apple customer service in my opinion is one of the best of any manufacturer and I would not hesitate bringing the phone to them any number of times.

As stated, no limit. However, if it keeps happening and you reach YOUR limit - complain to higher ups.

A guy I know bought a 5c new. He had issue after issue and went through SIX replacements. Finally, he'd had enough and complained to higher up executives within Applecare and because of his documented trail of issues Apple replaced his 5c one last time with a brand new iPhone 5s.

Apple isn't going to do that of course unless it's a long-running issue, but it's worth the effort if you have reached YOUR limit.

I've replaced my iPhone 5S 7-8 times.
