Is the iPhone web access slow or is it the area I am testing from? I have tested the iPhones in both an AT&T store and an Apple store, but either way web access was extremely slow to access even a mostly text based site such as Slashdot.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A93 Safari/419.3)

if you're connected via GPRS (no E in the blue box next to carrier name) it can be very slow

Edge networks are only up to 135kbps any way and the big E was visible. I still thought it was extremely slow.

depends on the area i get about 200+ kbps or w/e it is around my area and so do a lot of others. 200 is pretty snappy almost seems as quick as wifi when using it for lite use. 100 and under can feel really slow though... i have had a few places like that also
