Every iPhone I’ve had has been the regular size that’s available for that model, with the exception of the 6 plus.
This year I want to go with the Pro Max and I’ve seen a lot of posts about the weight of the 14PM.

I currently have a 13 Pro and use a apple leather case with ESR glass screen protector . All things considered it is the same weight as the 14PM alone.

Has anybody else thought of it this way or just thinks the 14PM is too heavy

I went from the 13 Pro to the 14 Pro Max. The difference is pretty large when you factor in extended time in use (not just casually picking one up and demoing one at the store). It's also the combination of the heavier weight AND the screen size, that can make the ergonomics more difficult to use.

Some are happier with either one. I'd say the best way to tell is by trying one out for yourself. Not just at the Apple Store, but real world use, cause that is where you'll really be able to tell in your day to day.

I’ve been using the Max versions of the iPhone since Apple introduced it and never thought it was heavy, I even attach a 10,000mah MagSafe battery pack when I go out.

Hopefully when I get a minute to myself I can check out the phones. Was thinking of just ordering the 14PM blindly and if I’m not happy just exchange for the Pro but there is no Pro Max within 200km of me

I moved to the larger size with the 12s. At first it was noticeable but within a week I never thought about it again unless it was when I was enjoying the gorgeous larger display.

It's definitely worth giving a try. The weight I will say is definitely well balanced for it's size.
One plus I've said, is I think content is more immersive on the larger display and of course, the benefits
of the extended battery life over the standard Pro.

I went from a Pixel 6 Pro to 14 PM, and I could clearly feel the difference. Maybe it's me, but it felt like the P6P was top heavy and otherwise I could feel flexing when I squeezed it. The 14PM otherwise felt solid and very balanced weight wise. You could tell it was engineered to feel well in the hand without feeling one bit flimsy or feel top heavy even with the camera bump that it has. I'm pretty much impressed with the design.

I went from 12Pro to 14Pro and the weight is bothersome even today. I do not use a case and will upgrade immediately if they offer a lighter pro model. The Max is out of the question for me. Your best bet would be to try it since there’s easy returns. No one can decide for you.

Not sure if you mis understood my OP. I wasn’t asking for someone to decide for me, I was curious if there was people who thought about the weight of the phone as I had written in my OP. For me, I looked at the specs of my current phone VS 14PM not realising with case and screen protector, my current phone weighs the same as the 14PM.

Bigger screen and battery life are the reasons I want to change

Yes, I did!
I actually did the same. Before AC+ Had unlimited claims, I was using the leather case on the 12Pro. It weighed more than the 14Pro I use caseless. However, it still feels much heavier and cumbersome compared to the 12Pro. It could be the softer edges and surface of The leather had something to do with it.
I am really keen on not buying a case because of the weight.

Im probably different, but with apple leather case the 14PM doesn't feel heavy, the 14 pro feels like a little brick IMO almost worse...

I previously never perceived weight as an issue. After using the 12PM at 228 grams for 2 years, it became uncomfortable and inconvenient. I then tried the iPhone 11 at 194g, felt heavy-ish, and then the iPhone X at 174g was perfect. I discovered that the ideal device weight for my personal preference and usage is at 174g or less, hence, going for the iPhone 14 as my next phone and looking forward to it.

Well said, specifically around day-to-day with extended real world use.
