after hooking my iphone up to a firewire port using a usb adaptor it will no longer charge or sync. not even on regular usb connection or wall charger.

what got "fried"? any idea what might need replacing or is my phone done once battery reaches zero? everything works normal except ANY activity involving usb port.

Take it to an Apple store.

Take it to an Apple store, inform them your IP4 just stopped charging and they will replace it as faulty. If it's an IP3 and therefore out of warranty, take it anyway and they may still replace it or at least offer to repair it.

UPDATE: Oddly enough it works with a usb port FM transmitter.

its a 3gs so no dice there.

i suppose i can see what a repair would cost but "repair" is not apples strong suit. i was just there 2 weeks ago for my imac. they said i needed a new screen or possibly a logic board. i went with my guts and bought a new power supply online and problem solved. im not ever impressed with the level of competence of apple techs.
