Other iPhone - What would you change - Hardware wise.

In my opinion, they should ...
- make the edges round again, like iPhone X/Xs/11P
- reduce the screen size (and body size...) to 5,8"
- reduce again the color selection to black and white (silver)
The 12p, 13p (which iam using) and the 14p are a bit to large. Iam using my iPhone caseless, so the increase of the body size is a bit to much for me.

Enjoying the upgrade from my 12 pro with the 14 pro max but what I would like for the next round...
- Matte finish on the stainless steel edge (fingerprint city).
- Smaller dynamic island; software bonus and as stupid as it sounds... give us those pixels back when the DI is not in use. They black them out via software to make it more uniform. I liked the "i" design and when DI does an animation it could quickly turn to black.
- Smaller bezels but using a screen protector tricks my eyes into believing I got smaller bezels anyway.
- Better cameras (I could care less about the bump in fact increase it even more so it annoys people who complain about it on here).
- Matte black option / green color at launch and not halfway through the cycle.
I love the iPhone 14 Pro design and it's currently either my 2nd or 3rd favorite iPhone hardware product, but there are a few key things I'd adjust:
- Metal Band: Replace the stainless steel band with a brushed titanium. While it looks great in product shots, the SS gets scratched and smudged so easily and makes the product heavy for no real benefit.
- Ancillary, I would love to be able to select a silver band with the black body similar to the iPhone 4/4S
- Camera Housing: I can understand if this can't be flush, but maybe reduce the high and change the design back to the iPhone X/Xs model where the camera bump was a singular module. I don't care for the raised plateau, followed by three raised lenses, followed by tiny raised edges and it collects dust. Make it one unit.
- Connector: Replace lightning and standardize on USB-C
- Touch ID: Keep FaceID, but also add Touch ID to the power button.
Smaller island when not in use (those unoptimized YouTube videos reveal part of the island.)
Actually, I’d probably take the notch back.. and have the dynamic island expand from the notch area. (Why oh why did I just type that. Now I’m going to be bothered forever 😭😂)
The stainless steel sides are really beautiful when they’re not covered in fingerprint oils… so perhaps beveled edge like the aluminum of the 5s would be nice to still keep the glint around the screen.
Less weight would be nice, too.

I would like to see larger camera sensors on the ultra wide and the telephoto, along with a longer telephoto zoom.
Being a photographer, what has always been the most impressive about the iPhone has been its main wide sensor. Even when comparing older 12MP iPhone sensors to their competitors that were using QB binned layouts and such, the wide sensor managed to really hold up. Quite often I was preferring photos taken from the iPhone’s wide sensor over the Pixel 6 and Galaxy S22 family.
However, the exact opposite is true for the telephoto and ultra wide cameras that have been on iPhones, for the longest time. The ultra wide on the 11 and 12 family is so violently noisy that even in good lighting conditions it’s hard to get a solid photo. The 13 at least made it usable in decent lighting but the indoor and nighttime performance were still what I expected out of a $300 budget phone, not a flagship. Similar sentiments can be shared with the telephoto. The 14 improved both greatly but they still need MUCH better sensors to come half as close to the telephotos and ultrawides as their competitors. They might as well just sell the iPhone with a single camera again, because the other 2 are just so far behind.

Like many has said, lighter materials to combat the ever increasing weight.
And my wish is for Apple to give the non pro models a telephoto lens, at least a 2x. The Pro can get the high MP and 3x zoom, so why don't trickle down the old 2x lens down to the non pro model? I don't mind -1 gen on the SoC, but a $1000 phone (in my country, that's the starting price for a non pro iPhone) should at least have better set of cameras in 2023.

Flush camera system would be lovely! Also, the impending switch to USB-C which has been on some of the iPads since the 4th Gen Air (which i have)
