iPhone will not be available to order online in Australia?

There no mention on apple.com/au about the phone actually launching on 30 July so we're all assuming that based on a press release.

Also, since it's now Wednesday and the phone is still not available to pre-order (unlocked, at full price) from the online apple store, I can't see how this will be in customers' hands by Friday.

It's unnervingly quiet on the Apple website. Something's definitely wrong. We were able to pre-order the iPad two weeks before it launched and it was guarantee to ship by launch day. How is this going to be possible with the iPhone 4?

The banner has been updated for a few days now showing that it is coming Friday in store.


Also Canada is in the same boat and no pre-orders as well. We are all forced to go instore to our carriers and other retailers for the iPhone 4.
