iPhone will someday cost $0 after subsidy

About a year ago I predicted that the iPhone will someday be free after subsidy with a 2 year contract and was ridiculed left and right by forum members, who claimed it'll never happen. Now with the subsidized $99 8GB iPhone 3G, it's never been cheaper upfront. Pretty soon at&t will sell refurb 8GB iPhone 3G for $0 with a 2 year contract (they did the same with refurb 4GB for $99, remember?).

Agreed. Although in some places in Europe, it's not uncommon for "free" phones (that don't suck) with contract.

Uh, iPhone's have always been free down here in Australia if you're on a 24 month contract.
