I am looking at getting a new router to accommodate the new AC networking in the new iPhone 6s. I have been told that if you use your N devices in the 5ghz spectrum that it will revert your AC devices back to N speeds. Is this correct? If so are there routers with 2.4 N that have decent speeds as my current N router only puts out a max of 35mbps on N 2.4.

I have a Asus ac router. I have about 10 devices on the 5ghz band that only have n. My iPhone is connecting to the ac.

You don't really need ac yet. I see a huge difference when doing wifi sync from iTunes, but it doesn't really matter. However you really should step up to a dual band router. Having the 5ghz band is night and day over 2.4ghz especially if you live in the city.
