iPhone without specific plan

Would Rogers let me still have a discount on the iPhone 3G if i chose a normal phone plan on a 3 year contract instead of the iPhone specific ones? I dont need Visual Voicemail or the data plan because it seems that i can get wifi a lot of places in my town. I was thinking if that they might not subsidize it as much like that i have to pay 299$ for it instead of 199$ or something like that if i dont go for the iPhone specific plans but I am not quite sure.

I doubt it. Also unsubsidized price is more like $500.
