Hi!

I Currently own an iPhone 5c. I use it as an iPod because the SIM card reader (whatever the name is) is broken. My iPhone lagged a lot so I restored it to give it a new start. But when I tried to activate my phone, I couldn't because I needed a SIM Card to activate it. I have a SIM card, but the reader is broken. How do I activate it? Thanks!

The SIM card reader is broken and you decided to restore it?
Why?
Without the phone being able to read a sim it will never activate.
You either fix that hardware issue or stuck with a paperweight.

How much does it cost to buy a new reader?

Does a USB soldering iron do it when you solder/unsolder the component?

I did it! I've been able to activate it without SIMcard. Thanks to all nevertheless! :)

Most likely we will never know.
Flyby newbie thread with no valuable input for future reference. Very common lately here:D
Especially like threads about icloud locked iphones and how can they get in without the owners apple ID and password.
