I recently upgraded to iOS 15.7.1 and I am now having trouble backing up my iPhone to my computer the way I used to. My iMac automatically boots in the morning. When this happens the iMac sees the iPhone on the network and automatically starts syncing over wifi. Since updating iOS this no longer works because the iPhone is requiring that I enter the passcode every time it is backed up. This happens even when the iPhone is unlocked! Previously this never used to happen; the phone would sync to the computer in the morning, but now the sycing fails because it can't even get through the backup stage. I have attached a screen shot from my iPhone showing the screen requesting the passcode in order to back up. It asks for the passcode if I sync over usb as well. How do I turn this off?
Thanks!

I have solved this problem. It seems that in settings->Face ID and passcode->Allow access when locked, I had disabled USB accessories. It didn't occur to me that disabling this would prevent syncing to a known computer over wifi, or that it would require the passcode rather than Face ID.

Actually it seems that the solution above was just a fluke bug. Automatically backing up to a computer is disabled in iOS 15.7.1 and 16. The only solution is to downgrade to 15.7, at which point the everything works again.
