iPhone wifi problem

My iPhone White 16g 3gs was working perfectly for 3months when one day it would not stay connected to my home wifi!!!

I tried many ways resetting the network reboot and sadly nothing worked.

Being technically frustrated I turned my router off at the socket then back on again ...... Unbelievable no problems since. Hope this helps if any one else has the same problem.

I figured out a solution to my iPhone not connecting!

All the sudden today my iphone was not connecting to our home wifi any longer..and I just didn't understand that because it was saying our password was incorrect and unable to connect and stuff but my husbands iPhone was doing fine.

I started to think about what had changed recently...we just installed a wireless printer at our house.

Ultimately what happened was that our wireless settings through our modem was set up for only 4 wireless connections and my iPhone happened to get knocked off the list. So, I changed the "Power Settings" to the number 5 instead of 4 and all the sudden my iPhone connected and took the password!

we have our modem through at&t and right when I pulled it up it showed all the devices that could have wireless but my phone said, inactive. Under wireless settings is where I found the Power Settings and just guessed that since it said 4 beside it, it should be changed to 5.

Im guessing that this could fix a lot of people's problems because I never knew that our modem was set up to only give 4 devices wireless internet..

Hope this helps! :D

iphone not finding any wifi any longer

I have a similar problem with connecting to my wifi. Everything was working fine until about a week ago. Now the iphone won't find any wifi networks. When I go into settings -> Wi-Fi, wifi is set to on but no networks are displaying in the choose network... I'm standing next to my router and thats not showing. A week ago standing in the same spot used to show 5 or 6 local networks (including mine). The router is fine and working with 2 PC's and an iMac.

I've reset the router, hard reset the iphone, connected to iTunes to make sure the firm ware is up to date (4.1 [8B117]) and I still have the same problem.

Any ideas?

Please please please help

nevermind. I got frustrated and ripped the wires out of my modem and router walked off to blow some steam then plugged back in once calmed down let everything re start and now miraculously it connects to my linksys.. thank god. Thanks anyways though

I have the same problem as everyone else. I've had my Iphone for a long time I was able to connect w/no problem. Then one day out of the blue it kept saying
"Unable to join the network 'Belkin.3D39' "
but I didn't change anything. I tried it all:
1. forget this network then tried it over again.
2. went to settings & reset network settings then even tried reset all
3. went to Itunes & restored phone
4. airplane mode
but nothing works!!!! When i went to town once when it 1st started it acted like it connected and showed the bars but it wasnt connected. I don't know what else to try??? I finally just gave up & now just play my ipod touch using the same exact wifi. If anyone knows how to fix PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know. I am currently up to date with the newest availabe.

Anyone ever find a solution to this? I'm having similar problems but some apps still work like youtube, but icant download any apps or use game center

iPhone 4 suddenly stopped connecting to wifi

My iPhone 4 stopped connecting to my wifi last week. It has worked perfectly for the last year. I was very anti getting a smart phone, but my iPhone has been amazing and hasn't given me a minute's grief until now.

I switched off and restarted my phone (tried to see the network both connected to my mobile provider and not), rebooted the modem, asked my phone to forget the wireless network, and nothing seemed to work. It could always see the wireless networks it was presented with, but wouldn't connect. It refused to connect to any wireless network, not just mine. My husband's iPhone3, both Macs and the Windows machines in the house all work just fine. The man in the shop down the road said he'd definitely fixed it (he's the resident iPhone expert apparently) but the things he reset made no difference at all. I don't know what he did - he didn't show me. Apparently he says the service provider here sometimes randomly resets settings and that messes up the phone's connectivity.

Thanks for all the suggestions here. Switching the phone to aiplane mode, then back off aiplane mode seems to have sorted out my problem. :) I should have started my investigations here rather than driving around looking for help.
