My friend's iPhone 4 running iOS 6.0 on Verizon is having a weird problem where she is unable to delete any of her shortcuts.

She can add a new one and delete that one, but not remove the others. Everytime she does, the settings app crashes.

Is there any way to fix this for her?

Thanks

Just to clarify you are referring to keyboard shortcuts in Settings->General->Keyboard->Shortcuts? To remove the shortcut(s), she is tapping the Edit button in the upper right, the red circle/minus sign that appears to the left then the Delete button? Any particular reason she hasn't updated to 6.0.1? How about restarting or hard resetting the phone?

Yes that;s the one.

She said she has restarted the phone and when she hits delete, the settings app crashes back to the homescreen.

I'm not sure why she hasnt updated to 6.0.1, but she doesn't often update her apps/phone.

Updating is definitely worth a shot. Apple has made it much easier to update over-the-air, without connecting to a computer, just go to Settings->General->Software Update. She will need to be connected to a decent Wi-Fi network to download, and its advisable to connect it to the charger if its fairly low on charge.
