iphone won't get IP address from router

Irritating problem as described above. I've tried a complete restore already.

Router info:
-D-link
-No fancy settings other than WPA2 security and no SSID broadcast

Turn on SSID broadcast. Set up wifi on your iPhone. Turn off SSID Broadcast.

But as it actually turned out after much frustration, the problem was caused by the router spitting out a/b/g/n signals all at once. Once I set it to g only, I could get online!
