    Hello,
I have just been given an iphone and I want to sync it with my itunes on my Mac but I plug it in and it says 'the iphone can't be used because it requires itunes 9.2 or later'. I have the latest version on my Mac, have uninstalled and reinstalled, plus rebooted and powered off iphone but nothing work, I've bought aps and they won't appear on my iphone either only on itunes on my Mac. Would love some help. :)

What version of OS X are you running?

    You need to update iTunes.

Did you open the DMG file and install it?

9.02 is not the latest version.

In your downloads folder there is an iTunes.dmg, open it, then either click the installer, or drag the iTunes icon from the folder to your Applications folder.

See this video for more on installing applications:

Not exactly, once you connect the phone to iTunes, it will check for updates and update the phone.

Ok, r.j.s we have progress, I put Itunes 9 in the bin like your video said and I now have itunes 10 on my desktop with a new logo. But I have plugged my phone in and I'm not getting the error message but it's not finding the phone either, it doesn't come up in devices?
