iPhone won't sync with my mail account.

    I get this error message ever since iTunes 7.5 update.

    "iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone "iPhone" because an error occurred remapping record identifiers."

    Has anyone else gotten this?

    I'm sure yours is fixed but for others....

    Check your mail settings on your iPhone. Setting->Mail

    I noticed that my mail settings ( incoming and outgoing server settings) got wiped out. As soon as I plugged them back in I was able to snyc.

    My settings were not wiped out of my phone, and i'm still having the problem.

    Any other ideas?

    I've even deleted the account off the phone completely. Still wouldn't sync. I guess since it's IMAP it doesn't really matter. The phone gets synced with the server, which gets changed by mail.app. But it would still be nice to be able to officially sync it.

    iphone and trouble with outgoing mail using optonline

    Upon speaking to apple tech support for iphone, I found the answer to one of my questions for outgoing email. Having ATT as my carrier, they are aware of an "issue" with outgoing mail using iphone. ATT has a specific server (called "EDGE") set up for email. Your outgoing setting MUST be configured to cwmx.com. Your wifi setting must be turned off as ATT's Edge must be used for outgoing mail.

    Had the exact same problem.

    Turned off wifi (just to be sure...)
    Went to my iPhone prefs, deleted the .mac account
    iTunes info pane of the iPhone, in advanced and checked email accounts
    Sync

    Prob solved
