Nice and informative. Of course this wouldn’t be macrumors if I didn’t inject my opinions into the conversation. The notch doesn’t bother me. The notch removes a relatively small portion of a video. Compared to growing up watching everything “formatted to fit your television screen” I’m pretty sure I won’t notice. Granted, i could never go back to those days, but the formatting then was extreme and cut out a lot of videos. Many of you will know what I refer to, those that don’t are fortunate to have missed out on those experiences.

Growing up the best we had was a 25" console CRT TV and it wasn't until my teens that we had a 32" TV. I only had a 13" in my room. Try watching a letter boxed film on a 13" -.- sure a 5" screen is smaller but not when the TV is across the room and you're in bed. Subtitles weren't even an option.

After decades of pan and scan or cropped films a little notch is no big deal to me.

Remember pan-and-scan VHS tapes?
