I ordered 4 of these iPhone Xs. And I visit this site daily and see problem after problem and now I'm worried that these are lemons. I don't recall this many problems for the 7+ and other phones. Are that many phones affected? Or is it only people who have problems post and its not a big deal?

Guess I'm looking for reassurance or something...this is over 5 grand and I'm pretty nervous.

I bought 2. Zero problems.

This site is the top 1% of Apple and Android users that are as picky as you can get them. I wouldn't worry about it 😀

There are issues, because everyone expects a great deal from Apple. But by far, they are the best phones on the market. My issues are in being able to use Swype. The surface of the iPhone X is like buttery smooth. I am now getting use to this phone after iPhone 7+. After one week, it is getting better for me. I am no more thinking of returning it for an 8. The smaller width of the X was a big change for me. My wife on the other hand is thrilled going from a non plus size to an X.

Good to know, I'm a contractor at Osan AB in South Korea...there is no official Apple store to return or repair...I have to do it all by mail. Apple wont ship to military addresses..so I have to use a mail forwarder with is 30 bucks a pop.
So that's another one of my concerns should I encounter issues.

Love Swype, used in on Android before moving to Apple...glad you mentioned it for Apple...will get it now.

Do yours have any problems? If not, what are you worried about? This forum is also filled with problems from people who own the 8, 8 Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, etc. etc. People come here to complain about their problems. The majority of iPhone X's sold will work exactly as intended.

Coming to Macrumors Forums to see if iPhones have good quality control is like going to Yelp to see if a restaurant is any good. All the threads are just very angry people ranting about how a tiny little thing went wrong with their device or insecure people having to justify their purchase of a product that wasn't for them. Not saying they are all lying or wrong, but it's far from an accurate representation of the vast majority of experiences out there.

The problem is you visit this site daily.

People who are dissatisfied make much more noise about a product than those who are satisfied.

This forum represents an incredibly small percentage of all the iPhone X’s out there that are being used and have satisfied users.

Nothing beats iPhone X when it comes to releasing a beta-product to the masses at an exorbitant price.
And Samsung and other Android makers haven't had problems with their high priced phones?

If the highlight of your life is coming here to bash Apple with every post, you need to work on making your life more meaningful. As it stands, you are building a lousy reputation for being nothing more than a ill-informed, biased broken record. Do yourself and this forum a favor and seek some personal growth that leads to more maturity, along with changing your current record to some other tune.

Actually the SIG MPX first gen was a pretty big cluster that pretty left early adapters in the dust when they moved on to the MPX Gen 2 with no support for said early adapters.

Broaden your horizons. There’s more to the world than phones and electronic gadgets.

Try not to read into everything you read on a tech forum. The majority likely won't experience everything you read negatively about the iPhone X on here. Other members come here to mainly discuss their observations and or issues they found with their iPhone X.

Use your iPhones as intended and if something does go awry, Apple will rectify it.

I love mine and along with the millions don’t start a post to say so, we all use these forums for our problems. The happy people don’t bother joining/posting here. This place is a wonderful resource but for someone just dropping by it could look like any particular Apple product is junk as that’s all the threads your going to see. I’d say buy your phones, you will love them.

I've got three of them ( delivered 3 Nov ), with no issues.
Certainly, you must expect the first run of something with over 30 million units shipping to have a few issues. Really, think about it. 30+ million, a hundred or so probably legitimate complaints. Not too bad. Apple's warranty and replacement standards are top notch.

Assuming there is a ridiculously high failure rate of 1%, your chances of multiple "lemons" is:

2 lemons - 0.01%
3 lemons - 0.0001%
4 lemons - 0.000001%

1% failure rate would be 10,000 PPM. In reality, the actual failure rate is probably in few hundred PPM (parts per million) rate so add several more zeroes to the above.

Came in here just to say this. +1

I bought 1. I never had a launch day issue or defect in any iPhone. Some people are sooooo picky. Yes, you’re spending $700+ on this device so yes I get you want it flawless, but some of the gripes on here are just laughable.

Agreed! Like the blue tint when tilting the phone. “This is outrageous! How can Apple create a phone that shifts blue when looking at it off angle!! I am returning this garbage!”

You'll get your phones and realize that this place is absolutely not representative of the real world. People here are ridiculously sensationalist and will run with any little bait they have if they smell blood in the water.

It's a new product. We live on Earth. Things are allowed to have failure rates especially early on in production but it's downright dumb to hold off for an entire year or spend your time trolling about the device because of a nominal failure rate. People act as if getting a warranty-covered defect out of the box completely invalidates your purchase and puts you in the hole. Nope, you get a new one that doesn't have the issue and you spend the next year or two enjoying the device exactly as it was pitched at the announcement.

If you have a green line, you'll get an immediate replacement by Apple. If you have a battery issue, you'll get an immediate replacement by Apple. If you have literally any issue at all, it'll get replaced immediately by Apple. The vast majority of us are enjoying our phones and thus don't have reason to be on here making topics about it, especially not at the same rate as those who are lodging a complaint.

One week in this has been the most incredible piece of tech I've held since the first one in 2007. Stunning, densely packed with cutting edge tech, lightning fast, and so much more intuitive with the gestures that it feels like a whole new OS. Face ID passively authenticating me as I hit login fields is game changing.
