Since last few months, my iPhone X suddenly stops responding to most touch inputs except closing and opening app gestures. However I can press up down power button and swipe to shutdown and then restart which fixes the issue. It can happen at any random time. Especially scrolling stops in Contacts app. Yesterday my iPad Pro 10.5 showed exact same behaviour. So yesterday itself I did a full factory reset of both my phone and the iPad. DFU restored from the ipsw file and set both devices “as new”. But today again my iPhone became semi responsive.
Is this a known issue or my iPhone is dying? Had screen replaced under warranty last month because they replace the entire screen assembly if top ear speaker starts to crackle. It was doing this before the screen replacement though.

This is a hardware issue. I had it with 2 iPad Pros. You need to get the devices swapped. For the X maybe a new display might fix it.

There is a repair program from Apple about iPhone X touch screen issues. I don’t know if iPad Pro has one.
You can check it out at the Support page on Apple’s website.

Who replaced the display? If it was Apple, then the repair is under warranty - bring it back to Apple. Other repair shops may or may not have a warranty on their work.
Apple themselves replaced the display. However this has been happening even before the display replacement.
