Hi all.

i have had a iPhone X since launch and wanted to try out wireless charging can anyone recommend a good one as I have read the MagSafe apple wireless chargers are useless for the iPhone X and take ages to charge As they don’t like older iPhones, Plus read many places that they damage the back and you need to pay for a charger so that’s a no go.

I just want to test the waters and get the best out of the wireless charger but not to sure which one are good and recommended to get the best speed and quality

thanks for any help.

I bought this wireless charger OP. It's a 7.5W Belkin wireless charger (special edition) made in collaboration with Apple. It was (is?) only sold at Apple stores.

I bought the space gray to match my space gray iPhones. It has a circular rubber mat on top so it won't slip if you use your iPhone caseless. The base is polished stainless steel to match your iPhone's stainless steel band. It also has a higher quality chip on board which checks on the temperature level of the pad, the temp of your iPhone battery and manages it intelligently to prevent it from getting hot. It feels very high quality and very much how Apple would make a wireless charging pad. Try and check their clearance section--I got it one day for $20 without shipping. Even then, I think it's worth the $50 IMO

Thanks will take a look. I see it’s on Amazon for £25. As on apples website it’s £40. Sod that. lol.

I herd the apple mag charger works on the iPhone X but takes years to charge as it seems to be some sort of slow charge enabled. And is not good and only works with newer iPhones better.

This is a reason I wanted to ask as older chargers might work better with my iPhone X. As the newer versions seem to have problems with older iPhones.

The MagSafe should default at 7.5W iirc, which is the same as the Belkin charger I mentioned

It should but many reviews say it does not work with the iPhone X as it takes ages to charge plus it’s expensive as you need to buy a charger on top.
Link to videos about this.

What about these as the 7.5w seems to be hard to get how.

What about these 10w

15w

Those are also real good. Belkin makes some of the best ones so they tend to be more expensive. They come with their own brick too—some others you have to have one of your own

Even if they say it’s 15W (and it is), it’ll drop down to 7.5W if it’s iPhone compatible and those are compatible. The bonus is with those you can charge something other than iPhone with up to 15W. So win win

I don‘t think it’s worth going an expensive brand like Belkin for iPhone X wireless charging.

When I got the MagSafe charger for my 13, I tested it with the X, & compared it to wired charging using a cheap (but solid, after a years use) Kmart 18w brick;

iPhone X (40-67% battery during time of testing)

Wired
•USB-A Port (5V==2A): 10W
•USB-C Port (5V==3A, 9V==2A USB-C PD, 12V==1.5A USB-C PD): 18W
Wireless
•Apple MagSafe Puck (no case): 6W
•Apple MagSafe Puck (with 1mm case): 7W

I also have a wireless charging stand by the same Kmart brand as the brick. Here are its charge times. They’re at 5w, using the USB-A to Micro USB cable. [Wall adapter Output 1 and 2 (USB-A): 5V=2A (Share)]…

15 minutes: 8%
30 minutes: 19% (+11%)
45 minutes: 27% (+8%)
1 hour: 36% (+9%) 1st hour: +36%

1:15: 45% (+9%)
1:30: 53% (+8%)
1:45: 62% (+9%)
2 hours: 70% (+8%) 2nd hour: +34%

2:15: 78% (+8%)
2:30: 86% (+8%)
2:45: 90% (+4%)
3 hours: 95% (+5%) 3rd hour: +25%

3:15: 97% (+2%)
3:30: 100% (+3%)

Been reading to stay away from the apple mag charger as it charges something like 2w as it never gets to 7w charge. Where’s the belkin ones do the mag charger is only good for the iPhone 13 apparently plus you need to buy the plug on top which I find a joke to be honest.

But not sure if the belkin 7.5w and the 15w belkin are the same quality build as it seems the 7.5 seems to be more expensive for some reason and is on apples website but the 15w version is cheaper and not on apples website but can be bought anywhere. I am surprised at that and sure if the 7.5 have better quality components

The 7.5W Belkin special edition charger is just made of better materials. You can get the 15W one with zero issues. The internals are the same high quality parts.

The 7.5W SE charger really is for the premium market. If you want to buy just one charger IMO that would be it.

I bought cheaper ones off Amazon but some of them don’t have the rubber grips on the top so my iPhone kept sliding off the pad overnight by itself

Hi all. Just bought the belkin 15w charger. Is there a way to find out what the phone is pulling from the charger. Just to make sure it’s getting the 7.5w charge.

Thanks
