Hi all,

I was thinking about getting a case for the X. I traditionally don't use a case. I want something that isn't too thick and will work well with wireless charging.

I tried the Apple silicone case but felt like I was breaking the phone when I put it on or took it off. Worse, it felt like the phone was collecting an insane amount of pocket lint.

Do you think the leather case will be better for pocket lint? I assume it won't be too thick and should work well with the charging.

Thanks.

It works just fine with wireless charging and I don't have a lint doesn't adhere to mine. I take the iPhone out of the case about once a week and blow out anything that may have worked its way inside.

I have the leather case and it can get scratched in your pocket but won't collect dust like the silcone no. I find it's abit too slippery for my taste but is a nice looking case.

I’ve got a silicon and two leather apple cases (I very much have a problem but that’s a conversation for another day). I find the silicon case is more grippy but the leather collects less dust.

I have the silicon case, but you tried the cases at the apple store? (If you happen to be near one).

I know you try them on there (and also get used to taking the case on & off) It shouldn't feel like the phone is breaking!

Had a black silicone, lint magnet and left marks from hand, horrible really.
Got a leather charcoal grey, no lint and it’s not slippery. Best one I have had.

I used the leather one for about a month, and I think it became less slippery as time moved on. I think it's the best leather case so far.

But I moved on to the Apple folio, and I'm not going back.

Overall, how do you like the folio? I've heard mixed things about it. I was slightly interested in it initially, but I'm happy with the silicone now.

I'm still a bit curious about it. Carrying less is always a good thing for me.

I was worried about the negatives I heard too, but I haven’t experienced them.

Phone call issues -> people said since the microphone on the back was covered, calls were muted. Everyone I spoke with has said I sound the same as I always do (when I had the leather case on), and it’s clear. I wonder if apple released a patch for it.

Camera covered by flap -> I don’t get this one either, because when I fold the flap back, it being flush against the back feels unnatural. Folding the flap back, and having about a half inch of spine out to hold onto on the left side, feels more natural. And when you do that, the camera isn’t covered.

The top fold sliding around draining battery -> some videos really exaggerated this. The fold doesn’t really move that much when it’s in my pocket, and the flap has to be lifted up quite a bit before the screen turns on (like you’re actually unfolding it).

I only have 2 cards in there (my id and debit), and the profile is only a little bigger than when I just used my leather case. It doesn’t feel bulky. I put some folded cash in there as well, and it was fine.

All together, it’s easily my favorite case.

That sounds good, like you most reviews seem i have seen seem average. They are $145 but can get a 2 week old Black one for $95, the standard leather case is $75, you may have swayed me :)

The Apple leather case not only feels great, it improves the feel of the phone. I tried going caseless for a day after having the leather case on for the four months since I purchased and coming back to it was great. Also, they're initially slippery but that goes away after using for a short time.

I wish I had money to throw away to get more colors.

I am coming from the silicone case, but I am returning as the matting is starting to wear. I want the leather case, but my concern is how it holds up when i work out. How does it hold up if it gets wet? Does anyone use it at the gym?

I use mine at the gym regularly but I only lift. Is it just the sweat that concerns you?

Dude where do you live that they are that expensive?

Yes it is the sweat that concerns me. I am a woman and will often put my phone in my waistband. and was worried the leather would get nasty.

Ah. I do exactly that when I'm deadlifting, shrugging dumbbells or anything else where the phone in my pocket would be in the way. I've noticed nothing outside of the normal patina.

Curious do you keep you phone in your pocket when your benching ? I use the leather also but had the phone drop out of my pocket when benching so I kind of stand it next to my water bottle until I have a better solution
[doublepost=1525278117][/doublepost]I also pick up the black folio , great case wonder if it will hold up to gym use?

I normally leave it in my pocket for flat and incline bench. I just make sure it's resting on top of my leg before lying down. Decline bench I definitely take it out and set it on the ground.
