Mine doesn't make any creaking sounds, feels solid.
The center of mine almost feels like the back glass is pushing in side thus making the creaking noise, and even slightly lift one side and push down the other corner the squeaking noise start. Might be an manufacturing problem

Although I don’t squeeze my phones but if you think it’s a manufacturing issue then better take it to the Apple store ASAP.

It's not normal. You shouldn't be noticing any creaking or popping. Contact Apple to have it replaced.

Yea with creaking and popping it sounds like there's a glue issue with your phone...ask for replacement ASAP

I had this problem with my iPad Pro 10.5, I think it’s probably because of the battery not properly glued to the frame. I brought it back to the store and they gave me a new one, I was slightly over the two weeks period with no AppleCare, they still just replaced it for me.

It was a fun experience, I bought it in an Apple store in Beijing the Chinese store clerks didn’t have enough authority to exchange it for me since I was over two weeks so they had to find the manager who was a westerner and the store clerk couldn’t speak English very well so I had to step in and be like, it’s fine I’ll speak to your manager for you.

Hi, I am experiencing the same issue seems to be the loudest over the Apple logo. Hoping just a loose battery and not the coil for wireless charging. Bought 2 iPhone Xs from the states and imported them to South Africa so exchanging at Apple is unfortunately out of the question. One is solid and one has the issue. Waiting for local resellers to support repairs then will send it in. Though I expect them to give issues due to it being bought in USA and not SA
