Had my iPhone X since the beginning of December 2017. When I look at the battery settings it still says the battery is at 91% performance. Yet I’ve found its battery performance over a day to be highly variable ever over roughly the same issue.

Anyone else experienced this with this model of a similar age?

All my Apple devices have varied battery life each day, even if the usage pattern is the same.

I am using an iPhone X since November 2017 with 93% battery life remaining and I'm having the same experience.

Interesting that your X is slightly older than mine but you have a somewhat higher battery life indicator. For reasons unknown to me since the start of the year my battery life indicator has dropped from about 98% to 91%.

It’s catching up fast on my 6S+ which still is at 85% even now, though admittedly it doesn’t get used much these days.

My X dropped from November 2017 to December 2018 from 100% to 93%. Since then, it hasn't lost a single percent for 6 months now, which I find quite interesting. But we probably have different using patterns, resulting in different, remaining battery capacity.

You must be a careful user.

No more so that anyone else in this thread, it seems. The range reported here is 91-95%. That's effectively pretty similar considering that battery health is an estimate. Given that the X is approaching 2 years old, these batteries are all in very good health.

I have had two batteries for my X so far (original plus 1 replacement), both dropped to 99% around the 165 cycles mark.

Man what’s your secret? Drain to 5% and charge only via lightning cable? I’m not seeing the benefit with Belkin Qi home charger ... other than reach and place down but to dine the sweet spot is annoying; no real convenience to me.

Draining to 5% will stress the battery. Keep charge between 15-95%. Frequent charge is good as long as you are not constantly draining it all the way down and charging it up full. This will just add more charge cycles to the battery. Fast charging is good for quick top up like 30 minutes only if you don't have time to wait but pay attention to the heat. I keep mines within 20-90% using lightning and fast charge for 30 minutes.

I use these 3 coil wireless chargers that also act as stands (they're upright). Have them throughout my place, and i just put the phone on them when I'm near. They're not finicky at all... Just works. And has kept my 7 monyh old Xs max at 100%.

I guess my secret is I don’t stress the phone for extended periods, but I don’t baby my phone either. It’s not intentional—I don’t play games, for example. I generally charge from 40% to 80%. But that’s not intentional either. I charge only in the morning as I get ready for work and when I unplug it’s around 80%.

How many cycles do you have?

Since I did my OP my Battery Health has remained at 91%, and that’s in spite of some seriously heavy use since, above my normal use.
