iPhone X button behaving weirdly

Every so often (maybe once or twice a day) when my phone display is off I'll press the button on the right of my iPhone X and nothing happens, I'll wait maybe 2 seconds and the screen is still off and then press the button again and it takes me to the Apple Pay screen as if I've m pressed the button twice.

Weird.

Anyone else had the same issue?

What version of IOS are you running. On the latest beta I've noticed that button is not playing nice. Haven't noticed what you are seeing but I am seeing a 2 second delay when shutting the screen off. To me it seems to be an animation error in IOS itself causing a delay.

11.1.2, yeah I think it's software as the button press is clearly being recognised, the screen just isn't responding.
