iPhone X Call Quality concerns . . .

I love my iPhone X EXCEPT that the call quality seems sub-par. The person on the other end sounds muffled.

This was before and after enabling wifi calling.

I'll do some experiments tomorrow with the case-off.

BTW, I have a spigen tough armor.

Anyone else having issues with call quality?

Have you updated to the latest iOS? I think there were sound bugs that many reported here, but it was fixed with an OS update.
 
I noticed that it is easy to hold the X in such a way that the sound is muffled. Like there is a narrow window of good sound call quality based on the position of the phone. Try adjusting the position of the position of the ear speaker on the next call.
 
I’m pretty happy with the call quality. I was happy to get away from my 7 plus due to crackling noises I would get randomly during calls.
 
I have found that if your case covers the noise cancelling microphone between the camera lenses you will sound muffled to the person on the other end of the phone call. However I have not noticed people sounding muffled to my ear - the call quality is great on mine! ( I upgraded from an iPhone 6 )
 
Thanks everyone. I took the case off and it didn't make any difference. I had 2 coworkers listen as we switched people and phones. We all agreed that the samsung galaxy s4 sounded better. I'll do some more experimenting tomorrow, trying out ear buds and bluetooth to rule out the speaker.
 
Fortunately, my coworker's iphone X arrived tonight so tomorrow we can have the galaxy s4 user call each of our phones and compare the sound. I'll also have my lightning ear buds so I can bypass the speaker .thx

Did you ever resolve this? Any further troubleshooting experience to provide? I have a co-worker/ enduser who I just got the X for and he is having issues with the calls he makes and the recipient not being able to hear him consistently.
