Iphone X camera app?

Why didn't apple update this to look similar to the android open see-through type glass look?
They just made it look like the phone still has bezels and a small screen area. If anything they should allow an open look for this app to showcase the phone and not limit it to their old style of screen look.
Looks pretty dated imo.

I wish Apple would do this, having huge black areas in the camera app really looks old.

possibly developers will make theirs more open. But there is still the software safe areas. Still would look better than the stock app.
Maybe they plan to completely redo it at some point its pretty bad looking compared to other brands

That sucks, really I do not get why they have this in video mode and not in photo mode.
