The issue with not being able to be heard for random calls is affecting my wife’s iPhone X. She has the latest OS update. This issue even affected her first iphone X which had to be replaced by apple store techs. We had assumed it was only issue with her first phone as it was “ possessed “ and did what ever it wanted on its own at random times (quickly open close apps, type random charactors, touch screen did not respond, flash through screens,....). It was replaced at the apple store as it failed all tests they performed on it.

Today it now occured with her new replacement phone. Is this a software issue as it now affects her replacement phone? Should we take it back to apple store? She is about ready to give up as she has had only but issues with the X.

This is random issue and only way to fix is to restart her phone

Thank you. She is obsessive about closing apps she is not using. I will have her check this next time if she has left any open in the background.

Also, was this behavior seen while the phone was plugged in?

Third party (or faulty) chargers and cords can make the iPhone go insane.

you should check if this phone passes diagnostic to see if its hardware. or it could have just been a coincident that the previous phone failed and you're still having this issue. a way to see if its software is to make a back up and then erase the phone and set up as new. if everything works fine, it was probably software; but you will still have your photos and contacts at least.

I am having the same problem. Reception level remains the same, and I can hear the other person clearly, but they can’t hear me. Any help would be appreciated!
