Just back from the Apple Store.

I like the X. But my current 4S is just so much easier to handle.
The X, by being a bit heavier than it's larger (and smaller) brethren, felt better than the rest.
I liked it.

So, I enabled Reachability and tried to get it to work.
Never really succeeded. Asked one of the Redshirts and she tried it herself for a few times, couldn't get it to work. D'oh.
Then tried on the next one and it worked better there. Then we tried on the original one, could get it work a few times and then it stopped working again.

Meh.

Is it because my hands were very dry or what can be done to make it accept the Reachability gesture a bit easier?
I could see myself sacrificing a space in the launch-bar at the bottom (or whatever it's called that houses, Safari, Mail, Messages and the Phone app by default) just to make it work more reliable.

Am I getting old when at that moment, I longed for the old days, when the iPhone could only do a handful of things and had maybe three gestures?
For a moment, it felt like the old Samsung Note (used for on-call) at work that my co-worker customized to the brink and that makes all kinds of weird noises and has all kinds of weird gestures so that I basically refuse to touch it other than to remove the SIM and put it into the old iPhone 3G (works good enough for that purpose).

I don't want to spend close to 1000 CHF just to be annoyed more often than with my current phone.

Still debating to to get an SE. But it's already a bit dated. Too bad that we won't see an updated SE before 2019, if at all.

It’s easy enough once you get used to it.
Start your swipe down just ever so slightly above the bar at the bottom and you’ll get it 100% of the time.

I use reachability quite frequently, especially to access the control centre or search bar in Safari. It is pretty easy to pick up. I use a very short quick swipe at bottom of screen, starting just above/to right of the bar (since I am usually using it with my right hand...works to the left as well!)

I come from a 5s and so a lot of the gestures and features (reachability, 3D Touch) were new to me, but now they feel very comfortable and natural.
