Seems to be the taptic engine. I was able to reproduce the clicking noise a couple of times, but as in your video it only happens when swiping all the way from the bottom. At least in the case of closing control centre, haven't been able to reproduce it anywhere else yet.

It's the haptic engine. I would try powering off your iPhone and then power back on, in case if it was a glitch that needs to be cleared.

This is a known issue. It only happens when swiping out of control centre. Don't worry about it, because its a software bug. It is fixed in iOS 11.2.5 (BETA). Many threads on this issue exist:

Software issue discussed by many. My X does it randomly too. Next update is supposed to take care of it.

I can confirm it’s fixed on my iPhone X running 11.2.5 beta. I had this issue prior to 11.2.5 and since running the beta, I have not.

You’re welcome! 11.2.5 is currently in beta 6, so it shouldn’t be long for the official release. Maybe even as soon as next week.
