hi,
Last night My iPhone X suffered water splash (liquid soap included) for hardly 30 seconds. When i woke up in morning i found face id disabled showing problem of true depth camera.

Tried hard reset, reset all settings but it again detects truedepth camera issue.

Front Camera Working fine except in portrait mode it doesnt show any effect like studio light etc. Animoji also working fine.

I am in Pakistan and apple offer no official support here. Also my phone warranty is expired. I am using latest iOS version.

Inam thinking to wait so if any moist reached through earpiece can evaporate and may fix the issue or use hot air like hair drier.

Anyone can suggest/help?

If water entered the phone you may see other issues arise as water damage usually gets worse as corrosion continues.. I doubt Faceid will return after the phone “dries” out so as long as everything else continues to work you might have to rely on just using a passcode to unlock your device. I’ve seen repair videos on Faceid as well as water damage from a company named Rewa Technology but there’s no way to know how much damage your phone has without disassembly/inspection..

When soap is involved, all bets are off.

Many water resistant devices rely on the surface tension of water to prevent water passing through. The fine mesh grille on the iPhone helps prevent water entry. When you add soap, it lowers the surface tension which allows water to pass through.

The phone should be taken apart and affected components brushed with alcohol. Water and soap have contaminants which will eventually lead to corrosion.

Went to Apple official service center and as per them their is no way it can be repaired. Only option is to replace phone out of warranty which will cost $550+ which no good todo.
What further i can do?

Honestly? I would consider your FaceID dead and get used to the idea of a passcode being how you access the phone each day. That, or sell it for what you can get and get a new device. Sorry this happened.
