Hi,

When I looked at the Battery usage, I found that Flashlight used 96% of the battery ....I did toggle the flashlight to see if its working but I turned it off a few seconds later. I let my phone charged to full and left it out overnight (barely touched it - only tap the screen a few times to see if there is a new notifications) and found that it has 78% of battery in the morning (the phone is not Hot at all)....I now restart the phone to see if there is some weird bugs in iOS 11.2.1. This is a really weird problem...

Probably just a fluke. I would do a restart, recharge, use normally for a couple of days and then check again. i bet everything will be A-OK then.

Yes, I've seen the same- an extremely disproportionate figure for only a few moments use of the flashlight. But it has only happened one time, and there were no other issues.

Using the flashlight is gonna demand a lot of the battery. If you didn’t do much else it would stand to reason. Don’t sweat the battery stats unless you’re having problems with battery life.

If you didn’t use any other apps, and your phone drained down in idle, it would stand to reason that the app usage would show that the only app used, flashlight in your case, was responsible for most of the battery drain.
Oh true, that's the only thing I tested and pretty much closed all other apps. I will keep an eye on the battery to see if it drains alot in idle. It probably gonna takes a few charges to settle.

The phone seems to be fine now, there is no more flashlight on the battery usage. Yay....However, today I noticed that the "Usage" and "Standby" time on my phone is exactly the same...what??? 13 hours standy and 13 hours usage? I just basically left it overnight and to find that it drained like 13% in 13 hours of just standby...I have restarted it again to see if it fixed the problem. I have also tried logout of iCloud, and toggle airplane mode on/off to see if there is a problem with the network. This is a really awkward thing.

Edit: So a hard reset seems to fixed the problem for now

1% per hour of standby is excellent! Or do you like...never sleep

Same problem here with an iphone 8+.
Flashlight shown in battery usage as high as 56% despite no usage but only set in notifications. Never seen in the past. Even after setting flashlight off in notifications the drainage is still shown.
Weird
