Anyone use the iPhone X leather Folio case to help them carry _less_?

How practical is it? Can it fit in a pocket easily even with 3-4 cards?

Anyone have experieces trying to use this case to help them go cashless?

Does the Folio case with the phone and Apple pay, etc make a good wallet replacement?

The card slot is a terrible layout.... At a minimum i need my ID, and at least 1 credit card and one debit card. it's just not practical.

In the end i settled with the Berkley Folio with detachable phone case... the leather is not as premium but i like the fictionality better,

If you decide on a folio case, don’t waste your dough on the official Apple one. There are better options.

I purchased my black folio from Best Buy. What I did was I priced matched amazon @ $50. Couldn't pass that up.

As far as practicality, for me, I like it. License/bank card, couple bills, and I'm set. Opposite hand for talking; not a

hassle at all. The leather feels different from my black leather case. Feels softer and more plush the more I use it.

Would I have the same review @ $100? Probably not because I would never purchase it. But at $50, all positive reviews.

Even at that, it will not replace my wallet for good. Hope this helps.

I like the Apple folio case. I keep two cards, my driver's license and a $20 bill. If I get change from the $20, I try not to put the smaller bills in there. The $20 bill is just there for cash emergencies. The bottom of the case did begin to fray a bit after 4-5 months, with the plastic ribbing becoming detached at the bottom of the spine. But the Apple Store replaced it today with a new one with no hassle. So, yes, a nice case. But a bit pricey.

I'd like to suggest an alternative:

Steeper than you might want to pay. But great quality and a great warranty (I think 25 years on the leather). Holds I think 4-5 cards + transparent ID card slot and a compartment for cash. I carry it in my back pocket, and I'm a woman--my pockets are not large. If you need the profile to be super slim, this may not be for you. But I find it reasonable for the functions it serves in one package. Also, it can be used with or without the detachable inner case to reduce the profile a bit.

Perhaps I've been looking in all of the wrong places but I haven't seen one I like (quality wise with smart cover and slots). So, I'm ordering the new red portfolio from Apple. If I find a better alternative I can always take the Apple one back.

Wow! you did well. I couldn't find that price anywhere (maybe an Amazon Lightening Deal?).

That's nice to know. I just ordered one.

Update 4/11/18
Just got my Apple (red) folio case for my iPhone X. I LOVE it! It fits my needs to at "T". Yes, it was a bit expensive but for me it was worth the "cost of admission". The quality was "Apple Standard". Don't get me wrong. I would have been thrilled to get it for less than $100 but in this case I think I got what I paid for.

I’m going to give this one a go as I’ve got used to leaving my cards behind thanks to contactless being available everywhere in the U.K. now - I pretty much use Apple Pay for everything.... And then there was an outage with it on Friday which was a PITA, so this seems like the perfect way to always have a card or two on me for emergencies.

Should also give the screen a bit more protection when it’s lying around or in pockets etc.
