So read posts on the forum saying the iPhone X display is the same size as the Galaxy S8 and when I went to check out the display in the store, I found there to be too much word wrapping and smaller size content compared to my 7 Plus but more amount of it was displayed. But yet I was thinking to compromise for that sleek OLED design but according to this its even smaller than the S8 with the same so is this worth a consideration for the Plus owners?

The yellow line is where the S8 display ends. The gesture area at the bottom on the X is unusable so how is it the same size display ? Am I missing something?

I would have thought they would be about the same size. As for the text layout that is probably the default setting.

I thought people were saying it equals the S8 display after taking the notch and ears into account. They arent. The S8 display includes the entire space occupied by the notch and seems significantly bigger as there is no gesture area at the bottom which again wastes space.

The iPhone X has a taller but narrower display compared to Galaxy S8.

In terms of display area, the X is definitely smaller.

Problem with your photo there is it’s not taken the bottom bezel of the S8 into account where as the iPhone X doesn’t have bottom bezel.

But all in all why does any of this really matter?

Buy what you like. I had the S8 for 3 months enjoyed the oled but couldn’t stand android so glad I’ll have oled but with iOS now :)

Not sure why people are still having issues understanding the size of the x. You only have to buy a case to realise how the sizing will be.

I am not talking of the physical size. I am talking about the display size.

It’s basically going to be like 5.1 to 5.2 inch display for most tasks

To Me, this seems like a non-issue. It's been discussed many times the display size of the iPhone X. And next year for those who want a larger display, a 6.4 inch display is likely.

So I think the route for me this year is the 8 plus and wait till next year for the X Plus next year. I will decide by the time of the X pre-order. Either preorder the X or go to the store and get the 8 plus. What I do know is that I won’t be keeping the note 8. It’s a great phone and it has no faults but it just doesn’t fit in with all my Apple stuff and I can’t be bothered with running two phones. I think at this point even two iPhones would be less inconvenient than an android and an iPhone. I don’t know how people do it with two phones.

On a sidenote, the Note 8 really is an amazing device. And I was completely impressed with all the S pen capabilities that It can do. If I were to switch to android, it would be with that device.
