curios if anyone knows what’s the availability/ policy on exchanges for the X due to faulty devices or any other technical issue? Is there a special stock at each store for replacement devices for customers w in the first 14 days
 
Typically on launch day same Apple Store can set a few aside for customers who receive DOA. But after a day or so, Apple puts those back on inventory ready to be sell. You can always call them or visit the Apple Store and if they don't have them in stock you can return it, get your money back and repurchase when they care in stock again.
