Like many others, I pre order my iPhone X at 12:01am on the Apple store app. By the time I was able to verify my carrier information my shipping date was 2 - 3 weeks. But I also had an option for local pick up on Friday, Nov 3rd. There was an option for the pick up time as well. I have selected 7pm as I'll stop by after work.

I have never pick up a iphone during launch day, can anyone advise on what to expect and any advice?

Thanks..

You’re lucky, I never had an option for in store pick up, and I got in really quick.

It’s the best way to receive a launch day iPhone imo, flawless and this year you could even pick a time.

Do we still get shipping info / tracking # (etc), since it's going to be shipped to the store? or will our orders just stay at "order in progress" until Friday?

There is no shipping or tracking info with in store pick up. When Apple scans your phone at the store (probably early morning of the 3rd) you will get an email saying your product is ready for pick up. It’s simple and smooth.

Is the pick up slot you choose a general time, apple used to hold your reserved phone until end of business that day but I’m not sure if it’s still the same?

It’s acturally a great experience. You go in at your selected time and you line up for a few minutes. An Apple specialist will then get in contact with you and bring your phone out. It’s little effor but makes a big positive impact on your experience.

Prepare for some line waiting, after work crowd. One time I came late after my reservation and had to wait another 15min which wasn't bad.
