iPhone X In-Store Pickup Question

Hi all! I had to do in store pickup to get the X on Nov 3rd. I was in a rush to get the order done so just picked the first pickup time available which was 9am. I most likely can’t get to the store until 5pm. Will that be a problem? How long do they hold it for?

Not a problem, when you get the pickup mail it includes this:

“If you’re unable to come in during this time window, you can still pick up your order, but waiting times may vary.”

Meaning, if there is still a line of unwashed masses trying to buy a phone without a reservation, you have to wait in that line rather than the short line of people with appointments that half-hour.

In Europe, they keep it for something like 2 weeks, tested with AirPods.
If they are about to cancel your order, you'd be notified before.

This is the difference between a reservation and a paid order.
