iPhone X is as tall as iPhone+ (if you ignore the ears and bottom home bar, with them included its taller)

iPhone X is as wide is iPhone

The Screen area is 30% larger than iPhone and 10% smaller than iPhone +

If you let the phone go full screen with photos and videos, the screen content area is larger than both iPhone and iPhone + in landscape mode.

In terms of efficient design, the iPhone X is the most space-efficient phone Apple has ever made with the perfect sweet spot of the size of iPhone and the screen almost as much as iPhone +

Also to be noted that even though the bottom bar area is assigned for home bar use. it can be used by Apps if they need it to override the homebar. This is especially the case in apps which are media centric.

I’m planning on buying an X, but the screen size comparisons need to relate to your usage.

The extra height is useful in thing like safari where there it can be well used and minimise the need to scroll.

In video apps where aspect ratio is more important, there’s less scope to use the additional space and so it could be wasted.

Bit like designing a boat that doesn't sink when hitting icebergs, then claiming credit for it.

The screen to body ratio of the last gen was the worst in the industry.

Except when you go full screen on the X, the notch covers up some of the picture. For some that’s satisfactory. Not for me.

Well yes! the screen is really awesome.

BUT - actually images are displayed significantly smaller than on the Plus, because of the relatively smaller width. Therefore, in order to fit them in there, the hight is also reduced. For a usual portrait image that makes for a difference of about 6mm in each direction, wich is more than I hoped for actually.
Images do appear very obviously smaller!

Still, It's a keeper for me, just like the 10.5" ipad pro over the 12.9". I sometimes miss the nice bis screen, but then I'm always happy about the mobility that I won, and I feel the same goes with the X..

I also pretty sure think that I'll opt for an XL next year.

While it absolutely doesnt bother me for typing, as some had feared, the size of images is really a bit annoying.
