i just returned my iPhone X and bought the 8+ instead. I noticed the same X wallpaper was still active after I downloaded iCloud settings. Its not in the wallpaper menu on the 8+...

So the only way to get new live wallpapers on the 8 is to buy an x and return it. Thanks apple

Its not normal

I must admit that I work as a colorist so its shift is magnified 10x by my eyes o_O. I can imagine it not being an issue for most. Before I sent the X back I went into the Apple Store and checked out their demos and they all had the similar shift in color.

You should have replaced the X. The 8 is a downgrade from the X.

I did.

That was numero uno for me when I returned (2) iPhone X. The first one was totally horrible. Just a tiny little movement in the hand drastically changed the color of the screen. The second phone was better, but nowhere near what a $1250 phone should be...

I believe the three new liquid wallpapers that came with iOS 11.2 are exclusive to the X. Hence why it does not show up on your 8+.

How is 8plus a downgrade other than gesture and face id along with oled? The internal specs are the same.

simple minded thinking price is lower therefore it's a downgrade. which is dumb because some might not be convinced faceid is worth the extra, or the ratio for example.

the only core difference between the 8/8+ & X are:
1) OLED vs IPS LCD
2) Longer aspect ratio of X vs 16:9 of 8/8+
3) FaceID vs TouchID.

As for cameras, as long as you do not "zoom in often" [which i highly do not recommend even on the iPhone X i prefer my shots 1x as wide angle shots force you to get closer to your subject rather than trying to "Cram It In", for some reason the wide angle lens is the best lens on a phone ever, the 2nd lens needs TWEAKING and better improvements imo], all cameras produce same image pretty much one over another.
