iPhone X lockscreen notification, FaceID feature

Hi there..

Just saw this article, explaining a very nice feature of the faceID.

You can now hide your lock screen notifications’ content, so they will only show when you look at the phone - other won’t be able to see (also works with touchid, not as convenient though):

For use cases like this, faceID sure seems more automatic and futuristic

It seems that face ID does more than unlock your phone. It can shield your notifications if it doesn’t recognise the user. So people won’t be able to see the notifications on your lock screen.

Why didn’t Apple talk about this at the keynote!

It's cool. I don't know about game changing lol. but it would be nice if face id can switch between profiles allowing multiple people to use the same device. (not necessarily a phone but other devices.)

This is the same as setting notifications to only show when it’s unlocked. Hides notifications until you place your Touch ID finger then it shows the notification.

No this is not the same because it’s more intelligent. It’s not you just putting a blanket block on them appearing on your screen. It’s the phone using face ID to determine if you are authorised to see them.

Very clever. So Face ID is able to seamlessly incorporate an extra layer of privacy compared to Touch ID, with less steps involved eh?

Yep, this is a very cool feature. Doing the same with Touch ID isn't really efficient as-is. This will be so much better.
