iphone x logo when is fully charged

Wanted to know how to truly tell if the phone is fully charged. I remember in the past when the phone was 100% and fully charged the lighting logo would turn into the small plug logo. Do the phones/software still do that? I haven't noticed.
mine is still with charging symbol when it is 100% for hours...

I actually didn't notice this with previous iPhones, I usually just saw 100% and disconnected.

Hasn't been doing that for some time, since iOS 8 days or so.
