Does anyone else think Apple might kee the iPhone X branding for the 2018 iPhone? Look how long they stuck with OS X. XS doesn’t look right, and if they go to 11 then they have an issue in 2 more years when they get to 13 (maybe longer if they bring back the S designation).

If there’s still 2 distinct lines next year, I think we’ll see the 8 replacement as simply “iPhone” and the updated X keep its name.

I think everyone was surprised that the X is pronounced 10 so I don’t see them having a 9 model at all, and if the X is actually 10 I don’t see that incrementing to 11 next year.

Like someone else saild earlier Apple will call the next X something like X - Mountain Lion or X - Pikes Peak.

Id like to see just "Apple Phone" a'la the Watch.

But me thinks the brand equity in the word "iPhone" is just too great.

H Clinton will propose to D Trump in a leap year before Apple changes the name to Apple Phone. Never going to happen. Besides Appe Phone is longer to say than iPhone. Every single living organism on the planet knows that iPhone is made by Apple, even my pet dog. So it's just iPhone, no qualification needed.
