Hi

I'm having a couple of little issues with notifications on iPhone X (set up using a back up from my previous iPhone 6s):

  1. when a notification for a text, WhatsApp etc. comes through, its simple says "Notification" in place of name/phone number - the relevant banner pops up, but there is no name or telephone number
  2. I'm getting email notifications for junk email - it's going to the junk email folder, but I'm getting a notification which I never got before

I've had a look through notification settings, but no joy...

Thank you in advance...

For your #1 issue, this is set as default on the iPhone X, for privacy concerns being it has Face ID. You'll need to go in to Settings > Notifications > Go to each App and change 'Show Previews' to Always.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I had wondered if it was a privacy issue, on my 6s I set to "no previews" but it still showed the sender/number. I have it set to no previews on the X as seeing part of the text or email is simply annoying!

Thanks again
Neil

Make sure you’ve got the “attention” option turned on in the Face ID settings.

The attention feature is nice. I have X in a dock next to my computer. I see a notification come from my peripheral vision. Glance at the phone it unlocks and shows the complete notification.
