I have a Spigen and I do like the look of this case, and it offers a higher level of protection but these types of cases tend to be bulky and takes away from the nice lines of the iPhone. This seems to be more of an issue with the iPhone X and its great look.

Given that I paid 1,000 for the phone plus tax, protection is high on my list of must haves.

I've seen some reviews of the Otterbox and I'm shocked at how much protection is seems to give, though it does seem more bulky.

The Spigen tough armor that I have has seems to have a nicer design the ottherbox, aesthetically speaking. Its not just an oblong black box. its also seemingly less bulky which may mean less protection, for instance the lip around the front seems less pronounced then the otterbox

Any thoughts and opinions between these two cases?

OtterBox tends to be the most rugged between the two phone cases. However, something to consider when you purchase an OtterBox case, is the difficulty of removing the case from the phone, which can be Difficult if you need to clean it or what have you. Otterbox to me is also more cumbersome to use because of the depth, which is dependent on your hands.

Spigen is still a fairly durable case, but it is much more comfortable to hold and less fatiguing in the hand as well. You have less bulk, but their cases still provide a good level of protection.

Ultimately, I think it depends on what kind of protection do you think you need? The most durable case or a case that provides somewhat less durability , but tends to be more comfortable in general to hold and use the iPhone.

is the difficulty of removing the case from the phone
I noticed that from one of the videos I saw, its a pain, but by the same token, its a rarity for me to remove a case on my phone once its on there. I think otterbox is maybe in its own class with durability but to be honest it looks like a brown turd. I mean we enjoy iPhones not just for the function but also the look, and while the Tough Armor hides this to a degree, its not to the extent of the otterbox imo.

If you decide to go with spigen please make sure your back has some sort of a protector on it. Spigen cases pattern on the imprint themselves on the phone's back.

I’ve never had this problem and I’ve used tough armor cases exclusively. I do remove the phone to clean it every week so that might be the difference. I notice the circle cutout for the Apple logo started to leave a ring on the back after time. I don’t think this will be an issue on a glass back phone. To the OP, I love the tough armor design and durability. When I get my X I probably will go that route even though I don’t like the addition of the kickstand.
